512 kbps is generally considered  an excellent broadband service that may be shared among about a dozen PCs in a local area network (LAN) configuration.

Rates are available from 128 to 4096 kbps.
 
Antenna dish size and transmitter power are important. The sizes shown on the network coverage  page will work up to 256 kbps. For higher uplink bit rates (e.g. up to 512 kbps) you will need twice the transmitter power.
